Child abuser met at airport by police
Friday, 22 August 2008
Gary Glitter has finally landed in the UK after a three-day stand off with Thai immigration officers.
The convicted paedophile was being held in Bangkok airport after being denied entry into Hong Kong.
He had previously refused to board a flight back to England, claiming he was having a heart attack.
But this morning, Gary, 64, finally touched down at Heathrow airport, after officials presented him with deportation papers.
Wearing a white T-shirt and baseball cap, the pervert was met by police who escorted him from the Thai Airways flight and took him for questioning.
Gary, real named Paul Gadd, was jailed for 27 months in a Vietnamese prison for sexually abusing two local girls, aged 10 and 11.
He will be made to sign the sex offenders’ register.
