Jean Reno was rushed to hospital while holidaying on the Caribbean island of St Bart's.
The French actor is said to have collapsed at the wheel of his hire car on Wednesday.
Jean, 60, was then airlifted to a medical centre after his wife Zofia called emergency services.
‘All of a sudden he was gripped by a fever, breaking out into a cold sweat and feeling nauseous,’ a source tells The Sun.
The Mission: Impossible star has now been discharged from hospital.
His spokeswoman has played down the incident, specifically denying rumours the actor had a heart attack.
'He is vacationing in the Caribbean and went to a local hospital as a precaution for some discomfort he was feeling due to heartburn and gastroenteritis,' says Christina Papadopoulos.'It was definitely was not a heart attack. He is fine and healthy and enjoying the rest of his vacation travelling in the Caribbean.'
