Jade Goody's cancer diagnosis 'not publicity stunt'

Rep insists reality star has got the disease

Jade Goody underwent tests after mysteriously collapsing at her home

Max Clifford has rubbished claims Jade Goody is using her cervical cancer diagnosis for publicity.

The reality star, who flew back to the UK yesterday, was told the news while appearing on the Indian version of Big Brother.

But some critics alleged her illness was exaggerated to win over the public after her spat with Shilpa Shetty in Celebrity BB in January 2007.

‘Those people are very sad people,’ Max tells Metro. ‘This girl has cancer. Full stop.

'That is exactly what it is, it is not pre-cancer, it is cancer in the neck of the womb.'

Jade, 27, went through with appearing on Bigg Boss for a reported £100,000, despite having the cancer tests earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Shilpa, 33, who hosts the show, has offered her support.

‘My prayers and wishes are with Jade and her family as they face one of the biggest tests of their lives in times ahead,' she tells the Daily Star.

Jade has two sons Bobby, 5, and Freddie, 3.
