Nicola Roberts had a fiery relationship with ex Carl Davies

Nicola Roberts has vowed to steer clear of guys for the foreseeable future.

The Girls Aloud star is still getting over her bitter split with Carl Davies, her boyfriend of 18 months, in May.

‘I'm banning men,’ she says. ‘No more fellas for me. I want to be on my own. I'm tired of all the bulls**t that comes with having a boyfriend. I don't want to deal with anymore crap. I've learned the hard way and from other people's mistakes.

Nic, 22, has never really enjoyed the single life. Before Carl, she dated another Carl - Carl Egerton - for 5 years.

‘I've been in relationships since I was 16,' she tells the Daily Mirror. 'I just want to be by myself and hang out with my girls.

‘I'm determined to find out who the real Nicola is. And the only way I can do that is if I'm on my own.

‘When I'm a grandma one day, I want to be able to look back and see what I've achieved, without having a fella on my arm. There's always time to settle down later.’
