Tuesday, 19 August 2008
Annie Lennox is recovering at her London home after having emergency surgery on her spine.
The singer was forced to return to the capital after suffering a back spasm at an AIDS conference in Mexico.
'I came back to the UK and got wheeled off the plane,' Annie, 53, wrote on her online blog. 'Felt a bit like Elizabeth Taylor.'
The procedure over the weekend freed a trapped nerve
‘Following an injury received while attending last week's international AIDS conference in Mexico, Annie Lennox underwent spinal surgery to release an impinged nerve,’ a spokesman for Sony BMG tells the Daily Record.
‘The surgery went as planned and Annie is now recuperating at home.
‘Annie would like to send her thanks and appreciation to all who have sent their good wishes in the past few days.’
