Reality star forced to quit Indian Big Brother
Tuesday, 19 August 2008
Jade Goody was told she had cervical cancer while she was in the diary room of Indian Big Brother last night.
The reality star broke down in tears when she heard the news and had to be comforted by fellow housemates.
Jade, 27, has now left Bigg Boss, which is hosted by Celebrity Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty, 33.
‘She is devastated,’ says her spokesman. ‘It is a terrible thing to be told you have cancer.
'She broke down while she was on air and told some of the other housemates she had some bad news and had to go home.
'When I spoke to her she was very upset, frightened and I tried to reassure her as best I could.
'It looks like her cancer is at an early stage but we will have to wait until she gets back to Britain and sees a specialist and has more tests.'
Jade underwent tests at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, Essex, after she collapsed at her mansion earlier this month.
She is due to fly home today.
It is not known whether the diary room revelation will be broadcast on Indian TV when Big Brother is aired later tonight.
Jade was tested for ovarian cancer in 2004 and bowel cancer in 2006, but was given the all-clear on both occasions.

Jade, for all your past mistakes, this is truly a terrible time especially as a mother. I wish you all the best in your recovery and hope you and your boys get the privacy and respect you need to escape the media backlash which will come from all this! Chin up girl and good luck x
Poor woman. Love her or hate her this is the kind of thing you would hate to happen to anyone. I hope she makes a full recovery.
Jade is so unlucky, being in Bigg Boss would have been good for her image.
if i was told i had cancer i would run out the back door straight to family & friends, not to a group of strangers & the cameras.that moron will do anything for sympathy. 2 cancer scares alreay? well, then 3rd time lucky, eh jade.
Eva - That's really nasty, I'm surprised someone could be that mean. She was in India, her family and friends are in the UK. So you have the choice of a production crew, or the people in the house? What would you choose. I hope something like that never happens to you, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I think you are the 'moron'. '3rd time lucky' wtf, get a grip...
