So broke, Tito and his family disappear from Devon owing £12,000
Tuesday, 19 August 2008
Tito Jackson and his family were due to start a new life in Devon for a reality TV show, but it seems that filming has ended on a sour note.
Now has discovered that the 54-year-old ran up thousands of pounds of debt while he was here.
One source reveals: ‘While Tito was in Devon his credit card was refused at a takeaway and he was paying for his mobile phone with top-up cards. He’s obviously completely broke.'
Michael Jackson's former bodyguard Matt Fiddes, 28 - who lives in the West Country - lent Tito £20,000 to pay for the plane tickets to get him and his three sons to the UK.
But, shockingly, Tito did a runner back to California, with £12,000 still unpaid.
‘The strangest thing was that although Tito and his family were just a few miles down the road from us, we couldn’t get hold of them on that last week of filming,’ says Matt's business partner Nigel Rosenbaum. ‘They just legged it in secret.’
