Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi to marry this weekend

Gay couple will get hitched in California

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi plan to wed in the next two days.

The couple are said to be organising an intimate ceremony in California.

Ellen, 50, announced they were getting married in May, after the California Supreme Court overruled the state's eight-year ban on gay unions.

‘It's something that we've wanted to do and we want it to be legal and we are very, very excited,’ Ellen said earlier this year.

'I think someday people will look back on this like women not having the
right to vote and segregation and anything else that seems ridiculous
that we don't all have the same rights.'

Ellen has been dating Portia, 35, since December 2004.

Hooray! Girl-girl is the new "black." It's exciting to see stars bold enough to talk about their alternative relationships in public. Hopefully these classy relationships will encourage more lesbian weddings!
