Makeover guru says he was bullied about his looks

Gok Wan used to hate how he looked

Gok Wan has revealed he used to see himself as a fat kid with a 'Satsuma' nose.

The presenter says he can relate to insecure women on How To Look Good Naked because he used to hate his body too.

‘I know what it’s like to stand in front of a mirror and think: "Oh my god, I have a nose like a Satsuma,"' he says.

'I'd be so distraught, thinking: “I don’t want to look at this ever again."'

Gok was bullied as a kid for the way he looked, but as he grew up he lost weight and now uses his own example to encourage his clients.

‘I say to women: “I’ve done it – the proof's in the pudding,”’ he tells You magazine.

‘I don’t think I’ll ever be 100% happy with my body, but I’ve found ways of dealing with that. I don’t want to be miserable any more.'
