Mike Skinner: Tampon inspired new song

Singer says lyrics were taken from a jingle

The Streets frontman Mike Skinner has taken the lines of his latest song from a tampon theme tune.

"I came to this world with nothing/And I’ll leave with nothing but love/Everything else is just borrowed" are the lyrics to Everything Is Borrowed.

The track features on the band’s new album of the same name.

‘It was written for a Tampax ad,’ he tells Zoo. ‘They thought it was too specific. Those ads need euphemistic language.

'You can’t talk about anything but love and freedom.’

Mike, 29, says the latest record will be his last outing with The Streets.
