Mark Chapman stays in jail for 2 more years
Wednesday, 13 August 2008
The crazed fan who gunned down John Lennon has had his plea for parole rejected for a fifth time.
Mark Chapman, 53, killed the Beatles legend near his Manhattan home in 1980 and has been locked up since 1981.
But parole board members reckon his release ‘would not be in the best interest of the community'.
‘It’s dangerous for him to come out,’ John’s widow Yoko Ono, 75, tells the Daily Record.
‘Not only for us but for himself. It’s not so much because of punishment.
'There are so many people out there who dislike him.’
The decision means Mark will remain in New York's Attica Prison for at least 2 more years, when his next parole hearing takes place.

Yoko is right about his release,I still remember how angry that this pig could kill a beloved figure as John Lennon. May he rot in prison and hell. If he would be released I would't make it past the front gate. My only surprise is that he hasn't gottened it in prison "THE BASTARD'
