Lily Allen's determined not to self-destruct

Lily Allen: I won't go off the rails again

Her rekindled romance with Ed Simons is on-off but the singer is not bothered

Wednesday, 13 August 2008

Lily Allen seems determined not to go wild again even though her reunion with Ed Simons, 37, seems shaky.

The Chemical Brothers frontman ditched Lily, 23, the weekend before last, but they were then seen out together last Thursday.

Despite the rocky road, Lily’s response hasn’t been what friends feared it might be. Having moved into a new house in London’s Queens Park area, she’s been busying herself with her new home.

'Lily knows everyone’s expecting her to be going out partying each night and drinking too much,’ a friend tells . ‘She knew some of her friends would take the attitude of “I told you so.” It may not have been the most sensible move to get back together with Ed, but it was something that she felt she really needed to do.’

Lily was spotted smooching with Ed at the Glastonbury Festival in June and it wasn’t long before the pair were pictured arm in arm and had also confirmed their status on Facebook. But Lily’s status was swiftly updated again to read ‘single’ on 31 July, as the romance failed again. Last week, she was spotted with him, but friends still say Lily won’t go back for good.

Lily Allen's personal life should not be in the press. In particular, her love life, it is a private matter. There is also no interest in Lily Allen, cleaning her driveway, dropping off her dry cleaning, shopping for a new dress, getting a haircut, these are just things normal people do on a regular basis. It's not interesting. And it's harassment by the press.

Well, yes many of us were concerned, when Lily was staying out all hours, and getting drunk. Performing while she was drunk, and generally making comments that she otherwise would not make. But now it seems she's spending time at her new flat, and with her grandfather, It seems there is less to worry about.
