Cosmetics giant L'Oreal has denied it made Beyonce Knowles' skin lighter for an ad campaign.
The singer, 26, appears in an promotion for a hair colour range in the September editions of Elle, Allure and Essence magazines in the US.
And there has been a backlash over the images in the States.
But the company insists it did not manipulate the picture.
‘We highly value our relationship with Ms Knowles,’ the firm said in a statement.
'It is categorically untrue that L'Oreal Paris altered Ms Knowles' features or skin-tone in the campaign for Feria hair colour.’
Meanwhile, Beyonce's husband Jay-Z, 38, says they've not spoken about their relationship because they want to keep their marriage special.
‘I just think it's really a part of your life that you gotta keep to yourself,’ he tells Vibe.
‘You have to have something sacred to you and the people around you.'
