Simon Cowell named highest paid star on US TV

Simon Cowell earns more than American Idol presenter Ryan Seacrest

Simon Cowell made a whopping £25million last year – making him the highest paid star on US television.

The acid-tongued 48-year-old even beat chat show host David Letterman, 61, who earns £16million.

America Idol presenter Ryan Seacrest, 33, came in third, raking in £14.5million, according to TV Guide’s annual pay survey.

Meanwhile, teen star Miley Cyrus, 15, earned £12.5million for her TV series Hannah Montana.

Charlie Sheen, 42, was named the highest paid television actor, earning £412,000 per episode for sitcom Two And A Half Men.
