Hollyoaks' Mercedes McQueen reveals her childhood ambition

Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe has revealed that as a child she had an unusual idea of a dream job.
The actress, who plays man-eater Mercedes McQueen in the Channel 4 soap, says she dreamed of being a prostitute or a lap dancer!
‘I had ambitions, although they were misguided,’ she tells News Of The World. ‘I’ll always remember the look on my mum's face when I declared: "When I grow up, I’m going to be a lap dancer."
‘I assumed it was a glamorous job.’
Jennifer 25, then changed track after becoming addicted to 90s TV series Band Of Gold, about a group of debt-ridden women who sell themselves to make ends meet.
‘When I was 12 I watched Band Of Gold and decided I wanted to be a prostitute!'
Fortunately, Jennifer discovered acting – although she says if the series were revived she'd be first in line for a part.
