Actress Sarah Jessica Parker wants her marriage to last

Sarah Jessica Parker has had a lot of thinking to do since her 11-year marriage was rocked by cheating rumours 2 weeks ago, but friends predict that she’ll ride it out.

The Sex And The City star's relationship with husband Matthew Broderick, 46, was also rumoured to be in trouble in 2002, but she tackled the issue by saying: ‘Come back in 25 years when I’m still married to the same man.’

‘Sarah will never leave Matthew,’ says an insider. ‘Cheating isn’t a deal breaker for her. They have a very strong marriage.’

Since the news broke on 22 July of Matthew’s alleged three-month affair with a 25-year-old woman he met in a New York bar, Sarah, 43, has been firmly by her spouse's - and their 5-year-old son James's - side.

Friends say she wants to protect James from her own childhood sadness.

'Sarah’s parents split when she was just 2,’ says a friend. ‘Her mother remarried and though Sarah loved her stepfather, she doesn’t want James to feel abandoned like she did.’
