Police called to remove man
Tuesday, 5 August 2008
Girls Aloud were confronted by a crazed fan who managed to get backstage at their gig in Nantwich, Cheshire, on Sunday night.
He verbally abused Nadine Coyle, 22, Nicola Roberts, 22, Cheryl Cole, 25, Kimberley Walsh, 26, and Sarah Harding, 26.
The security team then pounced on the man and police were called to remove him.
‘It was all pretty dramatic,’ a source tells the Daily Mirror. ‘The girls were due on stage in about three minutes time when he ran up to them.
'He'd clearly had far too much to drink and was stumbling about the place.
‘Luckily their security team was on the ball and intercepted him before he was able to do anything untoward.
'But it took three burly guys to bring him down as he was getting really aggressive.’
After being questioned, the man was released without charge.
