This Morning host says she had high cholesterol

Fern Britton says fear of having a heart attack led to her getting a gastric band.
The This Morning presenter had a secret op 2 years ago but only went public in May 2008.
‘I’ve always felt that I would go on until I was at least 85 years old,’ she says.
‘But it was in the last few years, my cholesterol crept up. I thought I’d be careful because I didn’t want to have a heart attack.
'Now I’m very happy. Enough weight has disappeared to make a difference.
‘It’s nice to inhabit a slightly different shape. Everything I have does seem to fit better.’
But Fern, 51, insists she doesn’t want to lose any more weight.
‘Women focused on dieting and themselves very often have an unhappy personal relationship,’ she tells Slim At Home.
‘I love eating and I’ve fed my body crap in the past. But life’s too short to be constantly depriving ourselves.’

I am sorry but Fern should never have made money out of her weight lose and made us normal ladies feel bad about ourselfs thinking that if Fern can do it why carn't I at least lose a stone,I would have had far more respect for her if she had come straight out and told the public, she couldn't lose weight and she was unhappy, not let us all believe that she was a marter.
