Man Utd star concerned after keys to his home are stolen in raid
Monday, 4 August 2008
Cristiano Ronaldo has hired guards to keep an eye on his Cheshire home because he fears he may be a break-in target.
Burglars raided his cleaner's home in Ashton, near Manchester, recently and got away with a bag containing his house keys.
Although the keys were later found, police are said to be worried the thieves may have had them copied.
'We are taking no chances,' a source tells the Daily Star. 'There have been a series of raids on players' houses in the area.'
Manchester United star Cristiano, 23, is currently in LA recovering from ankle surgery. But guards from security firm CES were spotted outside his £4m mansion in Alderley Edge last week.
