LIndsay Lohan's publicist has denied that she and Samantha Ronson are in love

Lindsay Lohan is not at all pleased that an LA police chief has been talking about her love life.

In a TV interview about controlling the paparazzi, William Bratton said: 'If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving, Paris is out of town not bothering anybody, thank God, and evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don't seem to have much of an issue.'

The Hollywood star, 22, thinks Mr Bratton was wrong to say anything.

'Police chiefs shouldn't get involved in everyone else's business when it comes to their personal life,' LIndsay told TMZ cameramen on her way to Chicago.

'It's inappropriate.'

The actress's publicist insists Lindsay and constant companion Sam Ronson, 30, are simply 'close friends'.

Wild and unsubstantiated rumours that Linds hopes to star in a film version of the hit BBC lesbian series Tipping The Velvet are unconfirmed.
