Singer is still fond of her ex-boyfriend

Jessica Simpson dated John Mayer for 9 months but is now seeing Tony Romo

Jessica Simpson says she doesn’t regret her relationship with John Mayer.

The singer dated the lothario 2 years ago and she has fond memories of their time together.

‘John believed in the Jessica Simpson that’s within,’ she tells Elle.

‘He cherished our love. He helped make me the woman I am today.’

But Jess – who is now seeing American football star Tony Romo, 28 – says their 9-month romance was never going to last.

‘John is going to be an amazing man for someone, but I know that I was supposed to be with someone else,’ she adds.

John, 30, is currently dating Jennifer Aniston, 39.
