Javier Bardem set to propose to Penelope Cruz

Actor plans to ask Volver actress on romantic trip

Javier Bardem is said to be planning to pop the question to girlfriend Penelope Cruz when they go on holiday next month.

Friends and family are said to have been pressurising the actor to get down on one knee and it appears he's finally ready.

'Both Penelope and Javier are very excited about their future,' a source tells the Mail On Sunday. 'It has been rumoured that Javier has already proposed but he hasn't asked Penelope to marry him yet.

'He plans to ask her when they are away on holiday. They are amazingly happy together and we're all waiting for the news that they are getting married.'

Javier, 39, and Penelope, 34, have known each other for 16 years but only started dating in 2007.
