Gabriella Cilmi says her family are keen for her not to lose the plot

Gabriella Cilmi says she laughs when she hears people liken her to other young stars.

The Sweet About Me singer was recently compared to Amy Winehouse because of their similar music styles and stardom at a young age. But Gabriella, 17, says she won't end up following a destructive path.

‘Although I do like a glass of wine, it’s unlikely I’ll be falling off the rails any time soon,’ she tells The Independent Magazine.

‘I think it shocked my family when the Amy Winehouse comparisons started. Each one of my relatives in turn called to warn me never to end up like her, or else…

'[My mother] watches over me like a hawk!'
