Singer receives mixed reception from festival crowd

Jessica Simpson had a mixed reception when she performed her first country gig on Saturday.
The singer was greeted with both boos and cheers at the Country Thunder USA festival in the US.
‘I don’t know what your perception is of Jessica Simpson or what tabloid you buy, but I want you to know that I’m just a girl from Texas,’ she told the crowd.
‘I’m just like you. I’m doing what I love and dating a boy.’
But much of the audience was impressed by 28-year-old Jessica’s attempt at a new music genre.
‘She’s an embarrassment to country music,’ one onlooker tells Us magazine.
Jessica performed her new single and a selection of covers, dedicating You’re My Sunday to her American footballer boyfriend Tony Romo, 28.

Jessica will help country & western music get rid of its dumb, ignorant stupid, mentally challenged, hillbilly image. She's a breath of fresh air.
Congrats Jessica Simpson. I wish you MUCH success in Country Music
