68-year-old actor holidaying with 34-year-old magazine exec Veronica Smiley

John Cleese has been married 3 times

Veteran actor John Cleese is said to have found love after the breakdown of his third marriage.

The comedian, 68, met magazine executive Veronica Smiley, 34, in New York earlier this year and they hit it off straight away.

‘She's certainly a new friend,’ he tells the Daily Mirror. ‘More than that, I simply don't want to disclose because the relationship is in its early stages.’

The couple are currently on a touring holiday in Europe.

‘We're at the stage where we're still getting to know each other,’ adds Veronica. ‘It's a very close friendship.’

John is divorcing American psychotherapist Alyce Faye Eichelberger, who he married in 1992.

He was previously wed to Fawlty Towers co-star Connie Booth, 63, and Barbara Trentham.
