Gemma Arterton: Daniel Craig wore heels for Quantum Of Solace

James Bond actor was shorter than his stiletto-clad co-star

Gemma Arterton says Daniel Craig needed special footwear during filming for Quantum Of Solace.

The James Bond actress, who is 5ft 7in tall, towered above her co-star, 40, when she donned stilettos for some of the scenes.

‘Daniel is 5ft 10in, but when they put me in heels I was taller than him and it didn’t look good on screen,’ Gemma, 22, tells the Daily Star.

‘The whole point of Bond is that he is masculine and hunky and he has to be taller than his girlfriend.

‘Daniel had to wear shoes with a lift in them and stacked heels for a few scenes – but he took it very well. He thought it was funny.'

Quantum Of Solace is released in October.
