Picture of Disney star shows her 'swearing' at snappers
Thursday, 17 July 2008
Teen actress Miley Cyrus appeared to swear at paparazzi on a family day out.
The Hannah Montana star was snapped on a rollercoaster with her 8-year-old sister Noah at the Santa Monica Pier, California.
And the unfortunate angle of the photo meant Miley, 15, seemed to give a 2-fingered salute instead of the peace sign.
The teen’s squeaky-clean image has been tarnished recently after she posed for Vanity Fair wearing nothing but a blanket.

Only in the minds of people that want to hurt her. The picture is innocent. Her expression is not of one swearing or showing contempt. The gesture is a peace sign. This mindless negative interpretation of everything she does has gotten to the point of exceeding the ridiculous.
I didn't see anything wrong with the gester. So I asked my kids who range in age from 12 to 20, and 15 people at work who range in age from 20 to 50 and come from different parts of the country. (i am in the military) if they knew what it meant. Only 2 people who had been to Europe said they knew. I doubt seriously that she meant anything bad by it.
I agree with the other comment. Also the 2 fingered salute as you call it not recognized as an insult here in the states. It is a peace sign either way which is what she intended.
Are you kidding me!! Obviously it's just the angle of the picture. Give us all a break and leave the poor girl alone!
The two-fingered salute means nothing in the US. It's just a peace sign to Yanks.
