Jon Voight has now made up his feud with daughter Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie's dad: I can't wait to meet the twins

Jon Voight says he's delighted with the new arrivals

Wednesday, 16 July 2008

Angelina Jolie’s father Jon Voight has spoken out to say that he's overjoyed at the birth of her twins.

The actress gave birth to Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline on Saturday 12 July by Caesarean section.

‘I love kids and can’t wait to see the twins,’ he says.

'I’m very excited for Angie and Brad and the babies – as well as for their brothers and sisters. It's such a beautiful time.’

Angelina, 33, and Jon, 69, fell out 6 years ago after he spoke candidly to the press about her. They only recently reconciled after Brad Pitt, 44, encouraged them to start talking.

Brad and Angelina have 4 other children – daughter Shiloh, 2, and adopted kids Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3.

All she has ever said is that they will try to have a less father/daughter relationship. She doesn't need his banal and stupid comments or false and not ever forthcoming support. Father/daughter?? Remember against her wishes to bring any attention to adopting Maddox, he announced it. With Zahara he didn't even know her correct name. Probably still doesn't. And now the twins, as if he were apart of the Jolie/Pitt family. He has yet to apologize or admit his insulting and condescending remarks of Ms Jolie's mental health. He's a coattail rider without a rudder or just another Hollywood actor. Father? He has used each child to purport his caring and concern. Jolie and Brad just want their privacy and to continue leading a normal life as best they can. They wish for privacy and he wants the spotlight. I acknowledge his acting ability, but not off stage. Family values doesn't need a lousy father to support them.

I think that Jon would love a relationship with his daughter! He made a mistake; we all do but it is wrong to keep punishing a person. He wants to make things right. The onus is on Angelina if she doesn't let her own father, who has professed his love every way he can, see his own flesh and blood along with adopted grandchildren.
