Amy Macdonald is in love with former Aberdeen striker Steve Lovell

Singer Amy Macdonald is to marry her footballer boyfriend Steve Lovell.

The striker, 27, proposed with a platinum ring on a romantic holiday in Grenada last month.

‘It's true,’ she tells the Daily Record. ‘I'm engaged. We're so in love and looking forward to the big day.’

Amy, 20, and Steve are yet to set a wedding date.

She dedicated one of her new songs, Troubled Soul, to Steve at T In The Park at the weekend.
