Actor and his girlfriend head back to Malibu with their son

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves have taken Levi home

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves have left hospital with their newborn son Levi.

The couple checked out of Santa Monica UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles and headed to their Malibu home on Thursday.

And Matthew's mum Kay, who will be staying with the pair, says her son is delighted with the new arrival.

'Oh my gosh, he's like over the moon,' she tells People.

Levi was born on 7 July and weighed 7lb 4oz.
