Madonna says she has nothing to do with Alex Rodriguez's marriage woes

Cynthia Rodriguez has filed for divorce from baseball player Alex 'A-Rod' Rodriguez, who was linked to Madonna last week.

She has cited ‘extra-marital affairs and other marital misconduct’.

Although Madonna is not mentioned in the papers, Cynthia’s lawyers say the New York Yankees star's 'relationship' with her was 'the last straw'.

They claim his feelings for Madonna are not 'sexual' but an 'affair of the heart'.

The singer, 49, has strongly denied she is responsible for Alex’s marriage problems.

‘I am not romantically involved with Alex Rodriguez,’ she said in a statement last week.

‘I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study.’

Cynthia, 35, and Alex, 32, married in 2002 and have two children - Natasha, 3, and Ella, 3 months.
