US music producer claims the footie star thought he was dating his wife

Damon Dash worked with Victoria Beckham on her ill-fated attempt to reinvent herself as an R'n'B singer

Damon Dash reckons his relationship with Victoria Beckham had her husband David fearing for their marriage.

The US hip hop star worked on some tracks for Victoria, 34, in 2003 when she tried to reinvent herself as an R'n'B singer. She also modelled for his Rocawear clothing range.

'I wouldn’t blame David if he was jealous,’ he says. ‘It’s understandable. I was hanging out with his beautiful wife all the time.

'I think he thought there was something going on between the 2 of us,’ he tells the Daily Mirror. ‘I know they had a conversation about it.'

But he says David, 33, had nothing to worry about.

‘Everyone knew we were just friends,' he adds. 'But who can blame him? I’m a fly guy!’
