Aerosmith star admits he had trouble with prescription drugs
Monday, 30 June 2008
Steven Tyler says he checked into a rehabilitation centre last month to wean himself off sleeping pills and painkillers.
The Aerosmith frontman originally said he needed a safe place to stay while he recovered from several foot operations.
But now he’s revealed he was struggling to deal with medication he was prescribed.
‘To have your feet done, to have your leg done, you have to be on narcotics,’ he tells The Associated Press.
‘You have to be on sleep aids at night...I was off and running and I didn’t like the me that was me.
‘This was a month ago, so I just put the brakes on and checked into detox and just pulled the plug on all of it.’
