Anne Hathaway’s ex boyfriend Raffaello Follieri has been arrested for money laundering and fraud.
The Italian businessman is accused of lying to investors and pretending he managed the Vatican's financial affairs.
According to the United States Attorney's Office he misappropriated ‘hundreds of thousands of dollars in investor money to live a luxurious lifestyle’.
It is alleged he used the money to dine in expensive restaurants, buy designer clothes and live in a £18,500-a-month luxury Manhattan apartment.
Raffaello faces 6 counts of wire fraud, 5 counts of money laundering and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
If convicted, he faces considerable jail time.
Last week it was announced he’d split from Anne, 25, after 4 years.
He is due in court on Tuesday.
