Star plans to wed her long-term girlfriend in the city

Cynthia Nixon will get hitched to her partner Christine Marinoni when same-sex marriages are legalised in New York.

The Sex And The City star, 42, has been dating the education activist for 5 years and they're keen to make things official.

‘In an ideal world, we'd like to in New York, when it becomes legalised,’ she tells New York's Daily News.

‘Hopefully, it won't take 20 years.’

Cynthia has 2 children, 8-year-old Samantha, and Charles, 6, with ex Danny Mozes, who she was with for 15 years.

Earlier this month, California overturned a ban on same-sex marriage.
