Alicia Silverstone says her dogs have a vegan diet, which stops them passing wind.
The Clueless actress hasn't eaten meat or dairy products for a decade.
'I really care about animals, there's so much unnecessary suffering going on.' she told The Graham Norton Show.
'All four of my dogs are vegan, they don't fart any more! I eat delicious food but without cruelty.'
But Alicia, 31, says her pooches have eaten meat.
'If you're walking along the sidewalk in New York, people might give them meat because they don't know they're vegan,' she says.
Her latest project, TV series The Bad Mother's Handbook, is due to air in the autumn.
I love that she has a soft spot for animals. I love animals too. I've been vegan for years now.
If dogs are made vegan, does that mean we should try to make wolves or lions vegan? I think if you are vegan and you own a dog, you should make it vegan. Because humans have bred dogs into this world and how can we allow thousands of animals, many who are as smart and capable of suffering as our dogs, be farmed and killed for our dog when it's not necessary. And it's ok for wolves and lions to eat meat, that's their nature.
