Actor says he regrets foul-mouthed outburst
Thursday, 19 June 2008
Charlie Sheen has apologised to ex wife Denise Richards for an abusive voicemail he left her 3 years ago.
The couple – who split in 2006 after 4 years of marriage – went through an acrimonious break-up that was played out with a war of words in the press.
In 2005 the Two And A Half Men star left Denise an abuse-filled voicemail, which was later leaked on the internet.
In the message he raged at the 37-year-old actress after she failed to bring their daughters Sam, 4, and Lola, 3, for a custody visit, saying he hoped she 'rots in f***ing hell' and calling her a 'f***ing c***’.
Now Charlie, 42, has issued a statement expressing his regret at his actions: 'I deeply apologise by my choice of words to all I have obviously offended.’
But the actor adds that he still feels angry.
‘Three and one-half years later, the reasons that caused the anger and frustration displayed on that voicemail continue to be manifested on a daily basis. My children did not show up today for a custodial visit without explanation.’
Charlie, 42, married property investor Brooke Mueller last month.
