Steve McFadden shatters hand during fall on Albert Square set
Tuesday, 17 June 2008
EastEnders’ actor Steve McFadden has had to undergo an emergency op after injuring himself on set.
The 49-year-old actor – who plays Phil Mitchell in the soap – was rushed to hospital after falling downstairs and shattering his hand.
He received 30 stitches after doctors put pins in his bones as part of the procedure.
But brave Steve returned to the BBC show after just 2 days.
‘I’m feeling much better,’ he tells The Sun.
The injury has been worked into a storyline as Steve’s arm will be in a splint for the next few weeks.
