Coleen McLoughlin and Wayne Rooney are to honeymoon on Necker Island

Coleen McLoughlin and new husband Wayne Rooney are set to spend their honeymoon on Sir Richard Branson's private Caribbean island.

The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Portofino, Italy, earlier today.

But once the celebrations are over they’ll spend a week enjoying the panoramic views of the ocean from a private villa on exclusive Necker Island.

The 74-acre resort in the British Virgin Islands boasts crystal clear waters, tennis courts, 2 beaches and a swimming pool.

Previous holidaymakers who have visited the £23,000-a-night island include Kate Moss and Princess Diana.
