More than 100 guests attend the private ceremony
Thursday, 12 June 2008
Yves Saint Laurent’s ashes were scattered by his friends in the rose garden of his Marrakesh villa yesterday.
More than 100 guests, including France’s former culture minister Jack Lang and fellow fashion designer Paloma Picasso, attended. Even his dog, Moujik, was there.
It was followed by a 2nd ceremony at the Majorelle botanical garden where a pillar was placed in his memory.
Yves and his partner Pierre Berge bought the garden in 1980, and it has since become a popular tourist attraction in the Moroccan city.
Yves, 71, died of a brain tumour on 1 June, and his funeral was held in Paris on 5 June.
