SHOCK! Martin Bashir diagnosed with brain tumour

But journalist says lump is not thought to be cancerous

Martin Bashir now lives in New York

Controversial TV interviewer Martin Bashir has been diagnosed with a brain tumour.

The journalist – famed for interviewing Princess Diana and Michael Jackson – has a growth on his pituitary gland.

The tumour, which is thought to be non-cancerous, was found when Martin hurt his head while filming a news show in America.

But he has vowed to not let the scare interfere with his life.

'It has been a very worrying time, but the good news is that the specialists don't want to operate on the tumour yet,' a pal tells the Daily Mirror.

'If he hadn't had the knock, he would never have known about the tumour. He sees it as a blessing in disguise.'

Martin, 45, lives in New York with his wife Debbie and their 2 children.
