Actor keen to return to normality after cancer diagnosis
Monday, 9 June 2008
Patrick Swayze is planning to return to work - despite having pancreatic cancer.
The actor will shoot new US series The Beast, in which he’ll play a veteran FBI agent with an interesting past.
Patrick, 55, shot the pilot episode in January just 8 weeks before announcing he was ill.
American network A&E, who produce the show, have high hopes for the series.
‘Obviously we’ve had candid conversations with him and his doctors,’ executive vice president Bob DeBitetto reveals.
‘And we have a fairly high degree of expectation that Patrick will be good to work a full production schedule.’
Patrick has also expressed his delight at returning to the set this summer - shooting is due to begin in August.
‘I can’t wait to get to work on this,’ he told the New York Times in an email. 'I have searched for quite a long time to find a character that is this multilayered, unpredictable and downright entertaining.'
