Chinese still unhappy over the star's 'karma' comment
Thursday, 5 June 2008
Sharon Stone is not on the guest list for the Shanghai Film Festival in China.
The actress, 50, said the country's recent earthquake was 'karma' for its treatment of Tibetans.
And she has since apologised for the comments she made during an interview at the Cannes Film Festival.
But organisers have decided not to invite her to the event, confirms festival spokeswoman Tang Bing.
The Basic Instinct star went to last year's festival as the image ambassador for the French cosmetic giant Christian Dior, which has since pulled her ads in China.
The earthquake struck south-west China on 12 May, leaving more than 68,000 people dead.
Sharon's rep did not return a call for comment.
