The French actress is fined £13,000
Wednesday, 4 June 2008
Brigitte Bardot has been convicted of provoking discrimination and racial hatred for saying Muslims are 'destroying' France.
A court in Paris fined her £12,500 and ordered her to pay £800 damages to MRAP, a French anti-racism organisation.
The former actress, 73 – now an ardent animal rights activist – sent a letter to French President Nicolas Sarkozy in 2006 criticising the Muslim Festival of Sacrifice Eid ul Adha, which is celebrated by slaughtering sheep.
Brigitte’s lawyer said that she is considering an appeal.
This is her 5th conviction for inciting racial hatred.

It's a sad day in France ~ All free speech is gone. She has every right to her views, which I happen to agree with. She did not incite hate ! She stated the facts as she saw them. Very scary that this can happen to her or anyone else !!!
I wonder what percentage of the French population secretly agree with Brigitte Bardot?I agree with SAM. We should all be able to express our opinions without being fined! Viva BB!
