Actress says she won't bow to pressure to lose weight
Sunday, 3 August 2008
Anna Friel has slammed Hollywood’s fixation with body size.
The former Brookside actress says she was even told by a film producer to eat fewer doughnuts.
‘I told him he could have me or a model without a brain. The obsession with weight today is just incredible. Curves have gone out of the window and I don’t understand it,’ she tells Hot TV.
And although Anna, 31, has been a huge hit Stateside with Pushing Daisies, she is determined to remain true to herself.
‘I think it’s really important to hold on to who you really are,' she says. 'I'm not going to let this new success change me.'

hey tv moronic higher ups. she's a very good looking woman. it is nice to see natual women again, you botoxed, silicon, and un-nataral wanting idiots. stick to your guns anna, you ARE a beauty!
This woman is beautiful, slim and healthy. Anyone wanting her to lose weight has serious issues. Thank goodness she knows her own mind and body and didn't buckle under pressure. Now there is a role model for our daughters.
Anna's a complete babe and one of the most watchable women on TV. Even moreso now, considering her stand against the network idiots who want her to be an anorexic stick-chick. The only weight she needs to lose is that moron producer getting off her back.
I SAY THE SAME WHO WANTS TO LOOK AT SKIN OVER BONES. NOT ME
Good for her for standing up and saying no to loosing weight!!! Bravo!!!!!!
