Gwyneth Paltrow: There's always someone younger and hotter than me

Actress feared her career was on the scrapheap

Gwyneth Paltrow took 2 years out to be mum to Apple and Moses

Gwyneth Paltrow worried she wouldn't be accepted back into the fickle world of Hollywood after taking a break to have children.

The actress – who had 2 years out after having kids – says she thought she'd be forgotten.

‘I really didn't know if there would be a place for me any more,' she says.

'There’s always somebody who’s younger or hotter or prettier.’

'If you're a woman – and especially if you're not 25 – Hollywood is pretty cut-throat,' she told an audience at the Cannes Film Festival.

Gwyneth, 35, is mum to Apple, 4, and Moses, 2, with husband Chris Martin, 32.

She's currently starring in Iron Man and Two Lovers.
