Woody Harrelson: I want to starve for 40 days

Actor wants to go surfing while he survives on just water

Sunday, 25 May 2008

Woody Harrelson plans to live on a remote island and eat nothing for 40 days - to see how the experience affects his brain.

The actor, 46, will go ahead with the experiment as soon as he gets a break in his work schedule.

'I’ve always wanted to do it,' he says.

'I know it’s going to be really hard. But can you imagine it? Eating nothing for 40 days? Swimming and surfing every day in a remote place? Where does the mind go?'

Yoga-loving Woody loves isolated places.

He lives in a quiet farming town with no shops on the Hawaiian island of Maui with wife Laura Louie and their 3 daughters.

‘It’s off the grid, there’s no power lines,' he tells The Sunday Times Magazine.

'It’s a real community, like one I’ve never been part of in my life.'

This is sad. This pathetic, washed up actor is literally "starving" for attention. It's amazing what some people will do to get attention when they no longer have an entourage of cameras following them. This stunt wreaks of a man just screaming at the top of his lungs "Will someone PLEASE pay attention to me. PLEASE look at me."

I don't kow if Mr. Harrelson will read this, but I can wish! I was very involved with Kriya Yoga for mosr of my life and I fasted two days a week - water only, breaking my fast with pure grape juice and grape seed extract which for many health reasons is considered the safest way to break a fast (Just an FYI). I was also going with a surgeon from Inida for three years, and every two months he would go into the desert even without water for one full week. I dropped him off and I picked him up each trip. he man whom I would pick up, was vastly different than the one I left there a week prior each time, and I will say that yes, his inherent psi abilities if you will, did become profoundly enhanced, however, when I wanted to attempt it, he told me in no uncertain terms: NO! I was nonplussed since he admired my spiritual balance in life - I never spoke of my yoga practices to anyone save but a fwe people close to me - but everyone in my dauily workld at work and everywhere else, always said to me, "You know - it's weord but sometimes it's like there's a big light around you and I feel I can only come just so close" - This was more prevalent after the fasts. Still, he warned me off of doing what he did ( the surgeon), claiming that he'd worked his way up to a week without even ewater, over a lifetime, and it was dangerous for westerners/ fairskinned people also (though I cannot recall the reason he gave for that - sorry), but at the same time, he stood by his 1st hand knowledge fom his life in India that there are yogis there who are oer 400 earth years of age, and they live solely off of "cosmic energies" and minute amount of fluids only rarely. I swa the picture of one such woman who looked to be in ther thirties. But to oody - be careful and don't jump into this - first one day then two and so on, s-l-o-w-l-y in prerparation, ven this man who was a highly advanced yogi and physician, restricted himseld to a full week eveyr two months, so while I wouldn't deign to act like a know it all and say "DON'T!", I will say that responsibly planned preparation would be rucial so you can benefit ...

He says he's always wanted to do it to see how it affects his brain. Let's hope his brain tells him it's a dumb idea before his body begins to deteriorate to the point his brain gets dumber than it already is. Maybe it's already too late. There is a reason for the expression, "brain food". It has to do with the brain and its need for nourishment. Try and imagine your brain in the opposite condition, Woody. You want to find out what it would be like to have deliberately made yourself as stupid as possible? It's really too late. You are already there.
