Katie Holmes stands tall next to Tom Cruise
Tom Cruise wants to bond with father-in-law Martin Holmes

Tom Cruise buys Katie Holmes' dad £75k golf membership

But Martin Holmes isn't a fan of the sport

Friday, 16 May 2008

Tom Cruise has bought Katie Holmes’ dad membership to a prestigious LA golf club.

In a bid to bond with his father-in-law, the actor is said to have forked out £75,000 for him to join Bel-Air Country Club.

But 29-year-old Katie's dad Martin Holmes is apparently not a fan of the game – and the 2,000-mile trip from his Ohio home could also prove to be a problem.

Although Martin has never spoken out about Tom, 45, sources claim he was unhappy when Katie started dating him in 2005.
