Amy Winehouse will not face charges over a video that allegedly shows her smoking a crack cocaine pipe.
‘The Crown Prosecution Service has now reviewed the case and no further action is being taken,’ a Metropolitan Police spokesperson says.
The footage also showed the singer apparently snorting ecstasy and cocaine and admitting she had taken six Valium.
Amy, 24, was arrested at Limehouse police station on 7 May after the footage was handed to officers in January.
She had been bailed to return later this month.
‘In the absence of any forensic opportunity or reliable evidence from any witness... we concluded we could not establish to the high criminal standard of proof required in a criminal court that they were controlled drugs,’ a CPS spokesperson says.
And Amy, 24, is chuffed the ordeal is over.
‘Amy is pleased to be able to move on and concentrate on music and particularly looks forward to seeing her fans again at eagerly awaited festival performances this summer,’ her spokesman says.
Meanwhile, Amy was snapped greeting pal Pete Doherty, 29, for the first time since he left jail in the early hours yesterday.
