Cynthia opts for a daring low cut Calvin Klein dress.

Cynthia Nixon says she would marry her lesbian lover Christine Marinoni if same-sex marriages were allowed in New York.

‘If it becomes legal I think we would. It’s something my girlfriend is interested in and it was something my boyfriend never was,’ she says.

Cynthia, 42, caused a media sensation when she left Danny Mozes, her partner of 15 years and dad to her two children, for activist Christine four years ago.

‘I think that to get married to her would be a little act of rebellion. It’s like if you’ve never had the vote and then you get it - you’re going to run out there and vote.’

The star, who battled breast cancer, hasn't had a relationship with a woman in the past.

‘I’ve been with men all my life and I have never met a woman I had fallen in love with before,’ she tells the Daily Mirror.

‘But when I did, it didn’t seem so strange. I don’t define myself. I’m just a woman in love with another woman.’
